Cathy Williams

Hello My Name Is...

Welcome! My name is Cathy Williams, and this is my 22nd year as a speech pathologist in District 7.  Before I came here, I worked in hospitals and nursing homes with adults, but my true love is kids! I earned my B.S. degree from Indiana State University, and then came to Michigan State to earn my M.A. I also completed a Masters of Special Education/Inclusion Specialist program at U of M Dearborn. My husband and I have 3 boys.  The oldest is a student at Grand Valley State (GO LAKERS!), the middle one is a freshman at the University of Michigan--Ann Arbor (GO BLUE!) and the youngest is a freshman in high school. In addition to Polk, I am also servicing Pardee and St Sebastian Catholic School this year. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any concerns, or just to chat.

In addition to personal speech goals, we stress the rules of good listening:
--keep our bodies still
--look at the one who talks
--do not interrupt/mouth is quiet
--ears are listening
--hands are free

Our goal is always to develop our communication skills both inside and outside of the classroom.

Homework is assigned on an as-needed basis. I ask that when homework is reviewed and completed, a parent sign or initial.

If you are concerned about your child's speech and language development, please do not hesitate to call me at Polk, or via email.
